I think I'm turning Japanese. I think I'm turning Japanese. I really think so.

So I said goodbye to my F-150 Friday. It was a close race between the Honda CRV and the Saturn VUE and the Honda won. Facing the fact that Honda had outdone a US manufacturer was tough to deal with. I have always tried to buy American but just couldn't do it this time. There was no vehicle in the class I was looking at that scored better than the CRV. The VUE was nice and the deal was fabulous but in the end the gas mileage and the ride of the CRV was just better. I'll have a solid dose of self loathing for buying a foreign car to deal with but as my trips to the gas station decrease so will my self loathing. Also the VUE was mostly put together and manufactured in Mexico and Canada, not the US. Trina and I celebrated my purchase by having Sushi for lunch Friday. Today I plan to continue my conversion by watching a Kurosawa movie and listening to a podcast discussing the first volume of "Buddha" by Osamu Tezuka.

I finished reading "Dead Beat" by Jim Butcher. On to the next Dresden Files book, "Proven Guilty". I'm a junkie for detective/wizard stories.

Until next time.

Psycho therapy, psycho therapy, psycho therapy. It's what they wanna give me.

Well I was humbled yesterday. I've always thought I was decent developer. I'm not going to invent the latest framework or break any new ground but I can use whats out there. I had a conversation with a very developer centric outfit in VA and was quickly shown that I have a higher regard of my abilities than others do. Lets just say me the white board and simple logic problems don't get along ;) I was O-fer on the white board and that was that.

To say the least it messed with me a little bit. I'll get over it but it sucked pretty hard yesterday.

Today I will be rooting for the Florida Panthers like a mad man. I hope they will help the canes back in to the playoffs but I'm not counting on it. I'll have to root for the caps in the playoffs due to old allegiances and my current proximity to the team. I will feel dirty for doing it though.

but you the living, you're stuck here with the Cubs, So it's me who feel sorry for you!

A true century of futility. In truth I've not paid attention to the cubs since a fan was blamed for the end of their last true playoff run. I joined a fantasy league and with friends like those at obk, I probably will follow more than usual.

I've a meeting of the minds, of which mine may be the weakest, this afternoon at two. I'm sick and relatively nervous. Perhaps typing out the two previous statements will help. Only time will tell.

More to come later.
